Beekeeping As A Hobby HG02

The art of beekeeping and collecting honey dates back to the ancient Egyptians! Beekeepers learn about nature and the necessity the honey bee plays in our world. This course covers basic information about honey bees, the hive components and assembly, tools and equipment as well as the placement of your hive. Learn about obtaining and hiving honey bees, harvesting and the products produced by honey bees. This course will also offer (optional) membership to the Connecticut Back Yard Beekeepers Association which meets in Weston, CT to support local beekeepers - $25.

A $5 materials fee is payable to beekeeper Bobbie Meyzen, owner of Honey Bee Farm.
